SEATTLE & Life Update

I FINALLY got to go back home a couple weeks ago. It had been more than a year. WHAT THE HECK. Alex got to come for a couple days before heading out to Japan again so that was fun! We did so much when we were there, I hardly had a free moment! Lots of sight seeing, lots of seeing old friends (unfortunately I didn't get pics with anyone!), lots of good food, and lots of family time!

*Life update: Alex and I will be spending the summer in Tokyo! He has already been there on and off since January. He will be working at the Domo Tokyo office. His work needed someone to go help out at the Tokyo office for 5-6 months to incorporate more of what's going on in America and to help organize and build the company there. Exciting times! I am so ready to be over there with him soon!

We started out our trip by going up to the Mount Vernon tulip festival! Living in WA my whole life, I don't think I had ever gone! Unless I did when I was little. These tulip fields were absolutely breathtaking and I am so glad we went! We also walked along main street and saw some cute shops and this cool "Make Art Not War" sign. Seattle is full of cool artsy things.

After we dropped Alex off at the airport, I had a whole day with just my parents! Man, I love those two. We went to Pike Place as it was just barely opening and there was no one there! It was great! We pretty much ate our way through the market and bought some cool trinkets. After that, we went to University of Washington campus to see the blossom trees. They were just at the tail end of their bloom, but still oh so pretty! Quinn had a game at Issaquah that evening so we went up to Snoqualmie falls. Every time I go here, I am so amazed by this place. One of my favorite views in all of Washington. And there is nothing like Washington mountains. They are green, and huge and magical.

My mom and I had a mommy-daughter date and took a ferry to Port Gamble and Poulsbo. These are the cutest little towns ever! We went to a 50's type diner place for breakfast and then went thrift shopping. Such a fun day!

One of the best parts of this trip was seeing this guy play his game! Got to see 2 wins for Bothell! Quinn is an amazing pitcher and it was so fun to see him in his element. He also got a few hits and just rocked it! Can't believe he is graduating this year! AH!

So much family time I was just loving it! We took some "normal" family pictures at my Grandma's house. It was also my Mom's 50th birthday so we had a party for her and surprised her with a book titled, "50 memories for 50 years" from all of us. It was so sweet to watch her open it. And she still looks 25. I also stayed with Cameron, Julia, Addie and Boston for a few days. THEY ARE THE BEST. They just got a trampoline so we did that a lot. And we went on a family outing to Sports Authority. Oh the things kids are entertained by. Boston wanted to play baseball the whole time as well...taking after Uncle Quinn? :) I sure do miss this family of mine! They are the greatest in all the land!!

Food highlights: Breakfast at Patty's Eggnest. Best breakfast in the universe. Alex got caramel apple french toast, and I got crab eggs benedict. TO DIE FOR. Went on a lunch date with Quinny to our favorite thai restaurant and got some pad thai. One of my favorite foods. And then of COURSE had to get some clam chowder at Pike's Chowder. The best place in all of PIke Place Market. And not pictured: Sushi Ring. Unlimited sushi. SO GOOD. I miss all the food in Seattle!!

Hopefully I will not go that long without going home again! It was such a blast and I miss it so much! I love my home and glad that I got to see my family :) Now off to a new adventure!
